Morley Memorial School have arranged for Bag2School to collect unwanted textiles from us in November. We are paid according to the weight of the textiles we collect, and funds raised will go towards the Morley Memorial School outdoor learning space / playground project. Textiles will be collected from the school of the morning of Tuesday 7th November.
This is an opportunity to sort through your cupboards and wardrobes and donate any unwanted textiles in the bag provided.
Things you can donate are:
shoes (tied together please)
hats, scarves, belts and ties
Please do not include bedding, curtains, household linen or towels, or school uniforms, or anything that is ripped or painted.
In addition to raising much-needed funds for our school, this is also an opportunity to raise awareness amongst the children of the benefits of recycling and reuse. The clothing we collect will be sold to wholesalers for reuse, diverting the unwanted textiles from landfill.
If you have a child at Morley Memorial School s/he will come home with donation bags. If you fill the bag and still have more, please use any other bag. Don’t forget to ask grandparents, friends and neighbours to have a sort out too! We welcome the Queen Edith’s community to bring your bag (or bags!) to the entrance to the Community Room of the school by 9.00am on the 7th November and help us have a really good collection.
