Time for the next open round of the Cambridge Hammer & Tongue 2017-18 season… Spoken word artistry and competitive fervour. What more could you want?

This is your chance to become part of the spoken word slam brilliance that has graced this here fair city since 2009, in the warm and wonderful surroundings of fabulous venue Cambridge Junction. Sign up as one of the eight to compete for a place in the Regional Final inSeptember, become a judge, or just dive in and soak up the atmosphere and talent on display.

Robin Lamboll – poet, former Hammer & Tongue Cambridge Slam Champion

Hosted by local poet, musician, and unrepentant geek: Fay Roberts

Tickets are £7.50 (adults), £6.00 (concessions) and £4.00 slammer ticket. Performance suitable for children and adults age 16 years +. Show lasts for approximately 2 hours and 30 mins. Bar and Box Office open 1 hour before show start time.

The Cribs on Wednesday 10th January in J1 from 7pm

The Cribs showcase material from their latest studio album 24-7 Rock Star Shit. From the unlikely beginning of a toilet paper factory in Wakefield to touring the world and notching up three Top 10 albums in the UK, The Cribs are masters of addictive, wiry indie pop suss. Since 2002 the Yorkshire men have produced passionate anti-hipster anthems including ‘Men’s Needs’, ‘Mirror Kissers’ and ‘Hey Scenesters!’ Tickets are £22.50. Doors & Bar open 7pm. Under 14s must be accompanied by an adult.
