July 10 @ 9:00 am – July 28 @ 5:00 pm
Everyone is welcome at The Perse Summer School! In the grounds of the Perse Upper, on Hills Road in Cambridge, our Summer School runs fun-filled and exciting courses available to anyone aged 8 to 17. Filling eight weeks with something new and exciting every day can be a challenge if you do it alone, so come and make new friends and explore something new, or further deepen your love of a subject at The Perse Summer School.
We are delighted to have taken bookings for 942 courses over the three weeks of Summer School. For those of you who haven’t booked, don’t worry, we still have some places.
Are you the next Bradley Wiggins, winner of the Tour de France and an Olympic gold all in the same year? If so we’ve got the perfect summer school course from where you can make your start. In the mornings of Week 2 our Cycling course for 11 to 15 year olds offers a mixture of skills and experience, and also a huge amount of fun. Our Outspoken instructors will take you from bike maintenance to races during our 5 day course. It’s a great way to boost your biking skills.
We are passionate about cricket and if you are eagerly awaiting England v’s Ireland or England v’s South Africa like we are, take a look at our Cricket course. The course provides you opportunities, whatever your experience, to further develop your love for the sport and interestingly your own techniques of play. Also, by providing a variety of fun and exciting ways to learn and develop your skills with games such as quick, diamond and conveyor belt, we’ll get your heart beating for cricket.
Our tennis courts are some of the best and we are lucky enough to have the wonderful Charles Harcourt during summer school making the most of the space. Charles has been a professional tennis coach since 1997. If you are looking for some new skills or tips for your game, whether beginner, intermediate or experienced, Charles has provided a course for you.
If you have Strictly Come Dancing on record at home, take a look at our Dance courses run in Week 2 and Week 3 of summer school. It doesn’t matter if you haven’t danced before or if you are an experienced dancer, both weeks are full of fun, great music and some of the best choreography Cambridge has to offer. As well as new routines we will also be exploring the most recent choreographic skills to help in all aspects of dance.
Mad about hockey and aged between 14 to 17? Then you probably think it should be played all year round! We agree and our Hockey course promises to be fun-filled, action-packed and full of games and challenges. Tutor Mr Wilbur plays hockey for Cambridge City in the National League and has already been working on new game tactics for you.
If flexibility is key have a look at our Multi Sports courses where you can come for a whole week, a whole day or even just a morning. There will be a rotation of sports provided by our course tutors but expect activities such as table-tennis, basketball, rounders, badminton, netball, touch rugby, cricket, hockey and tennis.
