We are starting to put together some plans for how we can make Christmas special despite the limitations that are likely to be in place. As well as the Christmas tree we have organised for Wulfstan Way, we thought it might be fun to create our own advent calendar walking tour. In fact, we want to make two: one in the north of the area around Joy’s Garden; and one in the south around Wulfstan Way. But to make this work we need your help!
- Would you (or your children) like to produce one of the pictures for our neighbourhood advent calendar? This does not have to be a professional artwork! We want to make the calendar as fun and inclusive as possible – images just need to be A4 sized and suitable for being scanned in, printed and laminated by the Queen Edith’s Community Forum team. Pictures will be put up each day during Advent on trees/lampposts/hoardings – as the days go on, this will turn into a numbered route (with clues) around the local neighbourhoods.
- We also want to create a dramatic ‘final piece’ for 24th December. We’d love to hear from anyone who would be interested in creating something large, visually exciting and waterproof, either by themselves or as part of a small team.
If you are interested in being involved in either part of this project, or have more questions, please get in touch with us. Remember this is open to everyone and talent is much less important than enthusiasm!
