We journey across the globe to compare and contrast the differences between the two most diverse wine groups. Whilst ‘Old World’ wines may hold the pride of tradition, the ‘New World’ has been fighting back using the latest technology and developments in the vineyard and is subsequently developing a reputation for high quality, good value wines.
Join us to consider: are the two styles converging, or diverging? Are New World ‘upstarts’ cutting a radical new dash or imitating their European predecessors? Do some of the continent’s ‘greats’ still deserve to be so highly esteemed in the face of their newcomer rivals? Are ideals of ‘terroir’ out-dated nonsense or stylistic reality? And, of greatest importance, what is best value and what do you simply enjoy to drink most?
