Members of the Red Cross Areas Residents Association, led by their youngest supporter Penelope and her mum Sofia, a nurse, have organised a delivery of special ‘goody bags’ to local residents. These include Jo, the group’s vice co-ordinator, who has given her time and energies voluntarily to bring the community together. They also delivered to those who work in the caring services, who are caring for others at the moment or who are key workers who have quietly got on with working through the pandemic.
The bags were generously offered by the Co-op Chief Executive Steve, with Simon of The Marque’s Co-op store co ordinating donations from 5 other local stores. The delivery group were joined by our county councillor Amanda, James from the CUH Trust, Chris from the Queen Edith’s Community Forum and Mark, the Co-op’s Regional Manager. The residents seemed quite taken aback with the gesture!
