The Queen Edith’s Community Writing Group: Chapter 1

Kay Blayney introduces the Queen Edith’s Community Writing Group, an opportunity for writers of all ages looking for a challenge.

Kay Blayney is the former and future Writer-In-Residence at Rock Road Library.

Kay says: “I believe everybody has a story to tell. This is an opportunity to build up a community memory of this time, because community really does matter. The first task is to think about the word ‘lockdown’. The writing could be a list, a poem, a diary entry, a letter, whatever you want it to be! Share it with us if you like, or just keep it for yourself. Enjoy, and I’ll see you again with a new task next week.”

Your writing can be:

  • Emailed to Kay at hello@queen-ediths.info
  • Left in the book exchange box at Joy’s Garden in Baldock Way
  • Posted in the letterbox at 301 Hills Road
  • …or just kept for yourself!
